SOURCES OF COMPENSATION

The law limits the amount of compensation the injured can received based on the wrongdoer’s ability to pay.  The injured should know that if the value of their injury claim exceeds what the other person can reasonably afford to pay, that all reasonable sources of payment have been exhausted.   This requires extensive knowledge of insurance policies and types of coverage, the law of agency and property, estate planning techniques used to hide assets and applicable debt collections laws.

Our firm has extensive experience handling all types of insurance coverage claims, including bad faith.  Where necessary and appropriate, our firm has successfully pursued underinsured businesses and individuals who are hiding their assets to avoid paying their creditors, including our injured clients. We also do estate planning and business entity formation so we know how some try to hide their wealth.

Of Note: Everyone should know the following about insurance coverage:

Homeowners and renter’s insurance contain liability coverage insuring the occupants when they accidentally injure someone inside or outside their home or apartment.

Automobile and homeowner’s insurance usually have medical payments coverage that will pay medical bills regardless of fault.

One’s automobile insurance covers them even if they are driving someone else’s car.  And the car owner’s insurance covers anyone driving their car with their permission and any passengers.
